No matter what the underlying cause of your acne, using the right face wash for management of acne is essential. This goes for both men and women dealing with acne. Using the wrong cleanser or soap can destroy any results you may be getting from medical treatment or home remedies for pimples. Since a face wash is rinsed off with water, any acne-fighting ingredients in it do not get to stay long enough on the skin to create a big improvement. This is why a face wash alone is not enough to get rid of acne.
Instead of a strong face wash that dries the skin like crazy, use a mild face wash that cleans well and suits your skin. Some face washes contains peeling agents such as glycolic acid, lactic acid (both AHA) and salicylic acid (BHA). These substances keep the pores clean, thereby reducing the occurrence of pimples. But they are rinsed off, so they may not be as effective in clearing up acne as stay-on acne treatment creams. After washing, use an acne treatment product only on acne prone areas of the face. This 2-step approach will serve you well in effective management of acne.
There are two kinds of ingredients you should be looking out for – comedogenic (pore clogging) and non-comedogenic (non-pore clogging). Choose products that have non-comedogenic ingredients and avoid ones with comedogenic ingredients. That is a safer guarantee than labels boasting sensitive or gentle or herbal. Comedogenic ingredients in acne cleansers often include added moisturizing agents such as Castor Oil, Wheat germ Oil, Glycerin and Lanolin. Aloe Vera on the other hand is safe for use on acne prone skin.

Using face wash is very simple and it will greatly help you with your battle against oil back-up in your pores.
All face washes have their own special directions on them, so it’s important that you follow the directions to a T!
You don’t want to overuse it to the point to where your skin stops responding. You also don’t want to rarely use it and not get everything out of it that you can.
– When you are using the face scrub, be sure you get your hair out of your face the best way you can. Pull it back and put it up so your face has no hair in it at all.
– Wet your face before you apply your face wash.
– Spread your face wash all over your face and massage it gently into your skin. You should never scrub your face too hard as this will make your skin worse. Spend extra time on the problem areas of your face which may be the T-zone, your cheeks, chin, etc.
– Always pat your face dry when once your rinse your face with water. If you rub your skin with the towel, it’s can give you wrinkles!
– Close your pores by splashing cool water onto your face. This isn’t something you need to do but it’s a good option that you have.
– To keep your skin from drying after using a face wash you should apply an oil free moisturizer after you are done with your face wash.
Wash your sheets and pillowcases at least once a week to wash away oil and other residue off of them that will be touching your skin while you sleep. This can be a major cause of skin problems including oil and acne so be sure you don’t use the same ones for longer than 3 months.
