Anyways, it’s not just the clothes that decide whether you are to be written off as a fashion faux pass or not. These days, you need to take equal care of other aspects too, from footwear to accessories to even Nail Paint! Yes, Nail Art is becoming very popular now-a-days in most of the cities. You see nail art is done in many salons, but you can also try doing this at home yourself. Here are some tips and designs which I have tried at home and thought of sharing with u all.

Tips for nail art at home:-

Choosing the right shade and right nail polish

Although it’s a personal choice, one should be careful of certain colors that make your hands and feet look darker. Opt for those that enhance your complexion. The current trends suggest Hawaiian colors like neon pinks and oranges, fluorescent greens and yellows and funky peaches and plums. They go very well with Indian skin tones. Nail paints are easily available in markets. Starting from Rs.10 it goes to Rs. 700. Avoid purchasing nail polish from a local vendor which would cost around Rs. 10-20. Though it’s cheap, it can harm your nails if applied for a longer duration. There are good companies offering prices of Rs. 60 to Rs. 100 for a good quality nail polish which only takes a few minutes to dry up. Apply these paints for 2-3 days and then remove it. One should keep rotating the nail paint frequently.

Applying the nail polish

Nail lacquers are applied in three strokes without overlapping each other. Start with one base coat, let it dry and then apply two more coats. You can mix-n-match. You don’t have to be a color expert to experiment with these ones. Finish off with a top coat of a natural nail shine.

The latest trends this party season

“This season the trend is all about Swarovski crystals, metallic colors, glitters and other abstract patterns,” says Amyn Manji, director Nail Spa Experience — Style Salon & Spa, Mumbai. Watch out for metallic and shimmery shades in gold and bronze.

Colors for Moods

Also, have you ever thought about ‘how colors affect our mood?’ I have experimented quite a lot of times with this, and have seen some positive results too. Though I am not sure how this mechanism works, but, definitely, there must be some logic behind this. Now all I care about is that I should feel better when the day goes haywire. Try wearing bright colors when your mood is off. Experiment with orange, red, electric blue, and pink, when it doesn’t seem to be your day. Always keep black colors in your collection this color plays a great role in nail art, you can match this color with any colors.

Playing With Colors for Creative Nail Art

You can try applying multiple shades in one go. For a multi-collared dress, you can choose a different color for each nail. Or maybe two main colors used on alternate finger nail. Or you can apply the rule of 50-50! Paint half of the nail blue and half pink… or any color combinations of your choice.
